The shipments will begin within the next few weeks to its 120 outlets across 50 cities. The carmaker aims at expanding its network to 250 outlets by September-end.
The Hector SUV comes with 19 features that make it the new benchmark in its segment. It features iSMART technology and has a 10.4-inch HD touchscreen.
The 48V mild hybrid technology was recently introduced in the global market. It is claimed to have an environment-friendly engine technology which enables a reduction in emissions. The 48-volt lithium ion battery helps store energy and give extra torque assistance of up to 20 Nm (newton meter) when required, resulting in a smoother drive.
“MG Hector, as India’s first internet car, has been built with a high level of localisation and comes with power-packed features. As MG’s first offering in India, Hector demonstrates our commitment to provide the best cars to Indian customers, that they love and appreciate,” President and Managing Director of MG Motor India Rajeev Chaba said.

MG Motor India invested Rs 2,200 crores so far to rebuild the Halol manufacturing facility and roll out Hector. The plant currently has a production capacity of 80,000 units per annum.
