The plan, the report said quoting the minutes of a committee meeting of secretaries in January, is to use cleaner fuel vehicles as an alternative to both fuel-run cars until the vehicle companies come out with more efficient ways of manufacturing electric vehicles.
The Department of Industrial Planning and Promotion (DIPP), the report said, is working on ways to accelerate the approvals of the plan, such as security process and other approvals required by the Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organisation (PESO) to set up more CNG and LNG gas stations.
