Home-grown auto major, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) MD Pawan Goenka said electric vehicles for public transport need FAME subsidy and hopes that the government won't rethink on it.
On faster adoption and manufacturing of hybrid and electric vehicles (FAME-II) subsidy, Goenka said there are various views that exist in various quarters and without FAME subsidy it will be difficult for three-wheeler and four-wheeler electrification to happen.
On push for charging infrastructure front, he said, “My firm belief is that we should take six-seven big cities and focus on intra-city public electrification of vehicles.”
