Auto companies fear space crunch for BS-VI stock, oil cos to share roll-out plan for better synchronisation

Updated : August 09, 2019 12:51 PM IST

The Supreme Court has mandated sale and registration of only BS-VI compliant vehicles from April 1, 2020.
The automobile industry has invested around Rs 70,000-80,000 crore to move to BS-VI from BS-IV fuel emission norms.
In 2017, two-wheeler and commercial vehicle makers had to take a hit on their margins by giving a heavy discount to clear their BS-III inventory and the rest of it was exported or reconfigured.
